Principal's Welcome Tara is a community of people working together for the education and guidance of tomorrow’s leaders. Our goal is a Tara graduate who is a leader in her community. She is intelligent, articulate, confident and compassionate; a young woman of integrity. Our HSC graduating class of 2007 achieved excellent results which continued to rank Tara as the Number 1 Independent School in Sydney’s North-West. For a non-selective School, this is an outstanding result and one reason for this is the School’s focus on our strategic priorities to optimise teaching and learning. Tara is dedicated to knowing, supporting and connecting with each girl through small class sizes and pastoral care programs. Tara is a place of exciting challenges. We encourage innovative and entrepreneurial teaching practices and learning experiences. We are a School that encourages excellence and develops self-discipline in our students. We recognise that each member of the School community is unique and special. Each student is encouraged and empowered to be herself, to accept the challenges and the opportunities offered, and to broaden her horizons. She is shown that leadership is service for others. When you join our Tara community, in Kindergarten, through Junior School, in Year 7 or in years after, you will always be made welcome – warmly and sincerely. We will encourage you to contribute and to be part of “our family”. Our Tara community began in 1897 and you will become part of this very special, ongoing history. The School is Christ-centred and we operate on integral values. “I CARE” clearly states these – Integrity, Compassion, Affirmation, Responsibility, Excellence in all we attempt. These values permeate all we try to achieve at Tara. |
