Tara is committed to offering girls an outstanding education, based on best practice and designed to enable students to achieve academic performance which ranks at the highest levels for Junior and Senior Schools. There is a commitment to the expectation

Tara's excellent educational offering will continue to be seen not only in the academic arena but also in the co-curricular. Tara will continue to offer cultural and sporting activities as well as community service programs which can be life-changing. Excellence in teaching and learning will be recognised and expected. Tara's depth and breadth of educational opportunities will continue to promote the attainment of each girl's potential, specified outcomes and the development of girls' characters and leadership potential.
A Focus On Christian Faith
The school is committed to encouraging all students to embrace an authentic Christian life. The source of our beliefs and values is the Bible and the teaching and example of Jesus Christ. Our Christian faith underpins the school's educational philosophy and programs and Tara seeks to promote, through education, the message of Christ.
As a Christian school, Tara welcomes students and families from many backgrounds and faiths into our school community.
Tara's Core Purpose, following from the school's Foundational Commitments, defines what Tara aims to be.
Our purpose is to be a Christian learning community, characterised by excellence, which encourages and empowers girls to achieve and serve in a dynamic world.
The third component within the Identity section is Distinctive Values. Christian values stand at the heart of Tara. There are also certain values and characteristics which help define Tara's culture:
Tara accepts, nurtures and respects every individual. Girls experience safety and encouragement, allowing them to thrive. The community seeks to model affirming behaviour for all girls to follow.
Eph 4:29: Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
2. Service to others
Tara encourages service to others. Girls appreciate that they live in a diverse world with many challenges. Tara girls understand the privileges they have and their responsibility to serve others, both within the Tara community and in the wider world.
Matt 20:26-28: Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Tara encourages girls to embrace life's opportunities at school and in the wider world. Extraordinary opportunities are provided for girls to explore their passions and develop expertise in their chosen fields.
John 10:10: ... I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Tara expects integrity. Girls at Tara accept moral and ethical principles developed from an understanding of God's word. All in the Tara community are expected to act with honesty and consistency.
Micah: 6:8: And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
THERE IS NO BETTER PLACE FOR GIRLS.
By the end of 2015, Tara will known widely as the school that understands girls' education and facilitates excellent learning experiences that are the best there are for girls.
Tara will continue to promote excellence. It will promote academic excellence and continue to offer a wide selection of opportunities and offer service to others. The relational aspects of connection and support will continue to be key defining aspects of the school's culture.
The Christian faith will continue to form our foundation.
