Vision, Mission & Values

Jesus said: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: love your neighbour as yourself.

The source of our beliefs and values is the Bible and the teaching and example of Jesus Christ. Tara welcomes students and families from many backgrounds and faiths. Our Christian faith underpins the School's education philosophy and programs and Christian Studies is a compulsory subject for all students at Tara.

Our Vision

Tara is an Anglican Girls' Day and Boarding School providing high quality teaching and learning experiences that encourage each girl to develop her potential and to pursue life-long learning for herself and for the service of others.

Our Mission

Tara's programs provide a wide range of educational, co curricular and personal development opportunities in a contemporary context based on the School's foundation and Christian heritage. Its academic programs satisfy the requirements of the New South Wales Board of Studies.

Our Values

Integrity
We encourage students to base their moral decisions and behaviour on the teachings of Jesus Christ and to act on their decisions with conviction, courage and consistency.

Compassion
We acknowledge the inherent worth of every individual as created in the image of God, and seek to reflect this understanding in our relationships with others. We embrace life and live it with generosity, compassion and discipline.

Affirmation
We are committed to consulting with the School community and other relevant groups to enable us to reach decisions that affirm Tara's Values. We encourage all members of the Tara community to participate in the attainment of our Vision and Mission.

Responsibility
We recognise the hand of God and the selfless efforts of the School's pioneers in the foundation and development of the School and its finite resources and we will strive to maintain and develop these resources responsibly.
