Tara Anglican School for Girls offers a number of scholarships to students who can demonstrate co-curricular achievements and strong academic performance. For the music scholarship, the student must excel in music performance. Scholarships are also offered to assist families with limited financial resources. In keeping with Tara’s tradition of inclusion and recognition of outstanding individuals, we are proud to offer a number of scholarships to cover part or full tuition to girls in both our Junior School and Senior School.

Tara will be offering a number of scholarships in 2016, including:

· Academic for girls entering Years 5, 7 and 9;

· All-Rounder for girls entering Years 5, 7 and 9;

· Music for girls entering Year 7; and
· Tara Foundation (means-tested) for girls entering Year 7.

Scholarships Testing

All scholarships require girls to sit the Edutest scholarship test held at Tara Anglican School for Girls. Scholarship Exams are conducted by the Melbourne-based Edutest organisation and practice tests are available on the Edutest site.

Scholarship applications for 2016 entry will be available online from September 2014.

Scholarships Portfolio

Following your online application for the scholarship test, please provide a portfolio to the school.

Each candidate applying for a scholarship for Years 5, 7 or 9 will be asked to provide a portfolio which in general terms, will highlight their academic and co-curricular achievements. The student must demonstrate enthusiasm for leadership opportunities, community involvement and/or academic, sporting or cultural pursuits as part of this portfolio.

Please address the submission to:
The Principal
C/- Scholarships Office
Tara Anglican School for Girls
Masons Drive, North Parramatta 2151

All candidates must use the school approved template for portfolios. All portfolios must have supporting documentation. The school recommends that all portfolios be presented as a hard copy and not an electronic submission.

Please submit certified copies of your documentation (not original) in portfolios. If you wish to have your portfolio returned, please ensure that this is noted with your submission.

Portfolios cannot be accepted on the Scholarship Testing Day.

Please note: for some scholarships, you will be asked to provide additional and specific evidence of achievements or supporting documentation.

Scholarships Offers

Scholarships are offered based on merit and may be granted at the Principal's discretion. Only applicants who are successful in being offered a scholarship will be invited to an interview with the Principal.

Please note that an application for scholarship at Tara Anglican School for Girls does not guarantee entry to the school as there are limited scholarships available each year.

Tara Anglican School for Girls

“Tara offers scholarships to students that demonstrate excellence, combined with a high degree of personal commitment and involvement in a range of activities. Students benefit from scholarships because their particular interest and abilities are recognised and valued and are given the opportunity to flourish. Our school and other students also gain from the contribution made by these students to our community. For parents it can be an opportunity to ensure their daughter can be part of a school where Christian values are foundational, the learning culture is one committed to the pursuit of excellence and their daughter will be enveloped in the schools culture of affirmation, service to others, opportunity and integrity."
Mrs Susan Middlebrook,
Principal of Tara Anglican School for Girls
