Academic Scholarships
Tara offers scholarships to students of high academic calibre. Academic scholarships are available to students from within Tara and from other schools, who will be entering Years 5, 7 and 9 in the following calendar year. These full or part tuition remission scholarships are awarded on the results of the ACER Co-operative Scholarship Tests. The ACER Tests are open to all students and interested girls may register online via the links below.
The 2010 examination date for 2011 enrolment is Saturday 8 May 2010. The ACER Scholarship Examination will be held at Tara Anglican School for Girls, Masons Drive North Parramatta NSW 2151. Results are available in June and academic scholarship offers will be made from 10.00am on Tuesday 8 June 2010.

Scholarship applicants normally sit the ACER examination at the school which is their first preference, unless otherwise indicated on the registration form.
Fee and Closing Date for Scholarships for 2010 (Years 5, 7 and 9)
The fee for the ACER Test is $120.00 (including GST) and the closing date for application to Tara is 9 April 2010. Applications after this date incur a late charge from ACER of an additional $120.00 in addition to the Basic Registration Fee.
Music Scholarship
In addition to academic scholarships, a Music Scholarship is available for students entering Year 7, 2011. The scholarship is awarded based on an audition and an interview and the ACER Test results. To be eligible to apply for a Music Scholarship applicants must have achieved one of the following:
· Pianist Grade 5 or above (AMEB, Trinity or equivalent),
· All other instruments including Voice must be Grade 3 or above (AMEB, Trinity or equivalent).
NB. Every student wishing to apply for the Music Scholarship must submit a pre application form and have received approval from Tara before registering online for the ACER Scholarship Tests. An application form is available here.
All Rounder Scholarships
In 2011, Tara will be offering a number of All Rounder Scholarships for Years 7 and 9 to new and continuing students who can demonstrate a high standard of academic achievement and an outstanding contribution in at least two other non academic fields. Applicants for All Rounder Scholarships must sit the ACER Scholarship Tests. All Rounder Scholarship applications must be addressed to the Principal. The closing date is 23 July 2010. Application for ICPA Bursary Year 7 or Year 9, 2011.
Applications have now closed
An ICPA Bursary may be offered to a student whose parents have membership with the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association and can demonstrate recent high standard of academic achievement and enthusiastic contribution in at least two non-academic fields including Christian/Community Service, Leadership, Performing/Creative Arts, Debating/Public Speaking and Sport. Applicants for an ICPA Bursary must be addressed to the Principal. The closing date is 23 July 2010. An application form is available here.
