Scholarships

Tara Anglican School for Girls offers a number of scholarships to students who can demonstrate co-curricular achievements and strong academic performance. For the music scholarship, the student must excel in music performance. Scholarships are also offered to assist families with limited financial resources. In keeping with Tara’s tradition of inclusion and recognition of outstanding individuals, we are proud to offer a number of scholarships to cover part or full tuition to girls in both our Junior and Senior Schools.

Tara is pleased to offer the following new scholarships for 2016:

Boarding Scholarships

In 1897 Tara Anglican School for Girls was established as a boarding school in Parramatta. Regional boarding scholarships reflect the School's continuing commitment to providing outstanding educational opportunities for girls from rural areas.

Tara offers multiple Regional Boarding Scholarships to external applicants entering Years 7 and 9 for partial or full remission of boarding fees (excluding tuition fees and extras).

Regional Boarding Scholarships are awarded to girls entering Years 7 and 9 for 2016 entry who demonstrate a willingness and ability to enter fully into the life of the school and participate in sporting and extra-curricular activities. There will also be additional scholarships for girls whose financial situation precludes them from attending the school (means-related).

The scholarships may cover partial or full boarding fees for schooling until the end of Year 12. They do not cover tuition fees or extras, which are the responsibility of the family. It is a condition of the scholarship that the recipient remains a boarder for the duration of her time at Tara.

SCHOLARSHIPS

“Tara offers scholarships to students that demonstrate excellence, combined with a high degree of personal commitment and involvement in a range of activities. Students benefit from scholarships because their particular interest and abilities are recognised and valued and are given the opportunity to flourish. Our school and other students also gain from the contribution made by these students to our community. For parents it can be an opportunity to ensure their daughter can be part of a school where Christian values are foundational, the learning culture is one committed to the pursuit of excellence and their daughter will be enveloped in the schools culture of affirmation, service to others, opportunity and integrity."
Mrs Susan Middlebrook,
Principal of Tara Anglican School for Girls
