Scholarships

For 2014, Tara will offer scholarships to students in Years 5, 7 and 9 of high academic calibre who also show commitment and expertise in other fields. These tuition remission scholarships are awarded to Tara and non-Tara students on the results of the ACER Co-operative Scholarship Tests plus a submitted portfolio. Online scholarship applications have now closed for 2014 enrolment.

The 2013 examination date for 2014 enrolment was on 23 February 2013. The ACER Scholarship Examination was held at Tara Anglican School for Girls, Masons Drive North Parramatta NSW 2151.

All candidates must provide a portfolio, addressed to the Principal. These portfolios should highlight their academic and co curricular contributions. Candidates should be guided by this portfolio template to be eligible. For more information about Tara's scholarship program, please refer to this Information Booklet.

Music Scholarship

A Music Scholarship is available for students entering Year 7. The scholarship is awarded based on an audition, an interview and the ACER Test results. To be eligible to apply for a Music Scholarship applicants must have achieved one of the following:

·Pianist Grade 5 or above (AMEB, Trinity or equivalent),

·All other instruments including Voice must be Grade 3 or above (AMEB, Trinity or equivalent).

Every student wishing to apply for the Music Scholarship must submit a Pre Application Form and have received approval from Tara before registering online for the ACER Scholarship Tests. Online scholarship applications have now closed for 2014 enrolment.

Application for ICPA Bursary, Year 7 or Year 9

An ICPA (Isolated Children's Parents' Association) Bursary may be offered to a student whose parents have membership with the ICPA and can demonstrate recent high standard of academic achievement and enthusiastic in at least two non-academic fields. ICPA Applicants must also sit the ACER Test. Please email the School for more information.Online scholarship applications have now closed for 2014 enrolment.

Fee and Closing Date for Scholarships

The registration fee for the 2014 Scholarship Testing Program at Tara Anglican School for Girls will be $135.

The final closing date for on-line registrations was midnight (AEST), Monday 4 February 2013, after which ACER closed the online registration system.
