Why an Independent School?

Why Tara?

Tara is a non-selective School and our students regularly achieve at the highest level in a range of subjects.

Tara has over 115 years heritage of educating girls. Our teachers understand girls' particular educational and developmental needs. Our quality teachers and small class sizes allow for innovative approaches.

Tara has a well resourced pastoral care program. We aim to provide effective support for the social and spiritual welfare of every girl. Tara has a very friendly and warm atmosphere.

Tara has a strong sporting heritage and as a member of IPSHA* and IGSSA** participates in a wide range of sports with other Independent Girls Schools. Strong competition teaches Tara girls teamwork, trust, leadership, confidence and self discipline.

Tara offers a wide range of extra and cocurricular activities across the arts, debating, sport and music. We encourage each girl to discover and develop her talents which gives her confidence to find her place in the world.

Tara offers flexible services for modern families, including on site Before and After School Childcare and Vacation Care, part time or full time boarding and access to extensive transport networks. Tara enjoys a parkland setting.
