All students at Tara are offered the chance to experience the extraordinary opportunities and possibilities of drama, dance and music performance in a range of academic, co and extra curricular performance contexts.
Past Junior School productions have included: Annie, The Wizard of Oz, Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat and Aladdin Jr. The 2011 Junior School Production was Alice in Wonderland.
A specialist music program is taught to all students and is enriched by musical experiences including choral groups, ensembles and bands. Every girl in Years 3 and 4 learns an instrument, giving her the chance to discover the joy of music and gain confidence in performing in front of an audience.
We provide opportunities for girls to join a band, choir, instrumental or dance group. This enables girls to perform at school concerts, assemblies, and Interschool events and competitions. From Year 3, students have the opportunity to participate in one of our renowned Junior School Musicals, produced by our Director of Performance.
Tara's teachers are there to recognise, nurture, assess and ultimately inspire each student to give to an audience, an effective and rewarding performance work.
