Happy International Teachers’ Day from students at Tara Anglican School for Girls

Friday 26 October 2018 marks international #WorldTeachersDay, also known as International Teachers’ Day in Australia. In honour of International Teachers’ Day 2018 Tara students have produced a documentary showcasing their appreciation to thank the teachers at Tara Anglican School for Girls for all their hard work. Shown to our dedicated teachers in the senior school assembly this week it was a great surprise! The students had worked tirelessly on this project in secret and hoped this video of thanks would touch each and every teacher and they realise how much the Tara students valued them.

A teacher is a person who helps others to acquire knowledge, but here at Tara we think they’re so much more than that. Teachers not only encourage the young women of Tara, but inspire them to be their best. Day by day they come into class with a smile on their face, no matter whether it’s early morning class or afterschool lessons for music, drama or sport!

“They are full of positive words and always ready to answer a question, assure us of unknown topics and support us through every step we take. Teachers shape us and change us for the better,” said Sophie Boland and Zoe Thomas Year 9 students from the Student Representative Council and who were instrumental in creating this project in thanking the Tara teachers.

As Tara celebrates International Teachers’ Day this year, the members from the Student Representative Council took this occasion to thank all the wonderful teachers and support staff at Tara for all that they do.

Celebrated in more than 100 countries world-wide, World Teachers' Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in 1994 to recognise the role of teachers in society. Every day, teachers are making a positive difference - creating opportunities for their students, empowering minds of young people and proudly teaching our future leaders, innovators and influencers. This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and thank teachers for the important role they play inside our classrooms and out in the community.

Happy International Teachers’ Day to all teachers!
