P&F Building Friendships

Building Friendships

Your journey, as parents, through Tara is viewed as importantly as that of your daughter. There are a number of groups, clubs and gatherings that will suit every parent to find a way to participate. Contributing and having fun while adding to the social spirit of the school will lead to developing long lasting friendships. Activate at Tara

Parent Social Network

The primary aim of the Parent Social Network is to build friendships, develop and strengthen community spirit and welcome families through a number of social activities, commencing with ACTIVATE, our ELC - 12 Parent Welcome Evening at the beginning of Term 1 and completing with the Annual Carols at the Colonnade in Term 4. The Network discusses the needs of the community. It is a group of parents gathered from all year groups at Senior School who meet once per term or meet around the organisation of a social event. Time is not the only way to become involved as many parents offer their expertise to support the school through community efforts with their daughters. Your personal time to volunteer may be limited so we create opportunities regardless of whether you have one hour or a lot of time to share. A trivia night, year dinners, social coffee gatherings and a Golf Day are planned to connect parents and the school community.

Junior School Parent Network

Our Junior School Parent Network invites interested parents to support Junior School staff and the Head of Junior School to build friendships with family and parents. This connection is provided through social activities with a Junior School focus like the Annual Family Picnic Day and Term meetings. With a relaxed focus, we invite your involvement and input into developing connections from ELC through to Year 6 as well as in each Year group. Please see Event Calendar for meeting dates.

Our Parent Network members, in Senior and Junior School, also give important assistance to the school by being involved in active forums and discussions to consider differing aspects of the school and its development. We encourage you to join us.

If you would like further information or a connection to your Year group please email Community Coordinator, Wendy McDermott, via email. We would love you to become involved.
