At the beginning of 2017 the archbishop of Sydney officially opened the Tara Chapel. This is the first time in our history that Tara has had a chapel. The chapel is a beautiful and modern space that enhances and supports the services held within it that point to the beauty of the God who is so central to our past, present and future.
The Tara Chapel is located at the front gates of our school symbolising that our Christian Identity is paramount in our vision for the school. It is also located in between our Junior and Senior School symbolising our Christian faith as one of the unifying features between the two campuses. The walls of the chapel are high, pointing to the transcendence and majesty and God, and yet inside the roof is low and the room wet lit, pointing to the presence of God in amongst the students who frequently worship there.
The chapel is used frequently for our weekly student chapel services, as well as our lunch time fellowship groups (Crusaders), prayer meetings and staff services.
We receive frequent requests for weddings in the Tara Chapel. These are welcomed by members of the Tara Old Girls' community and staff. Please contact the Chaplain, Rev. Nicholas Russell for more information via email or telephone 02 8838 2660.
