Tara Anglican School for Girls is a wonderful school for girls with a strong and proud tradition and this year celebrates 120 years. Tara is an Anglican, non-selective school, which nurtures its students academically and spiritually and provides significant opportunities in the co-curricular arenas of the arts, sports and service to others.
Tara is a school filled with energy and vitality and the students enjoy impressive facilities, extensive grounds and excellent teaching by dedicated and well-qualified staff who are passionate about their craft.
Our aim is to provide the environment which optimises each girl’s ability to learn and develop as a capable, confident, articulate and resilient young woman who upon graduation is well prepared to embrace life’s adventures.
Our focus is on learning and we constantly examine our practice to ensure we are providing the best for each of our students. Education within a framework of Christian faith has been the cornerstone of Tara since it was established in 1897 and it continues to be so. The School’s Christian values of Affirmation, Service to Others, Opportunity and Integrity help define Tara’s culture and inform student well-being and personal development programs as well as relationships between staff and students. The School’s values encourage students to value diversity, develop a love for learning, a sense of personal responsibility and a commitment to justice.
There is no greater privilege than being able to contribute to the development of a young girl’s growth into a great young woman. In my role, I have the joy of seeing girls achieve amazing things each day. It is indeed a great blessing to be able to join with families in the education of fine young women.
