Application Fee - non-refundable

$220 per application

Enrolment Fee - non-refundable

Pre Kindergarten - Year 10 $1,500
Year 11 entry $500
Sisters  $250

We encourage alumni to stay connected with the school, so when your daughter leaves Tara, $250 from this enrolment fee is paid to the Tara Old Girls Association as a life membership fee.

2017 Tuition Fees

Pre Kindergarten $16,000 annually 
Kindergarten, Years 1-2 $17,567 annually 
Years 3-4  $19,848 annually 
Years 5-6  $20,436 annually 
Years 7-8  $25,160 annually
Years 9-10  $25,616 annually  
Years 11-12  $27,226 annually 

All fees are reviewed annually by the School Council.

Tara Enrichment Centre 

There are many co-curricular and additional opportunity lessons available, offering classes and lessons per semester. These are optional and charged separately. Visit the TEC page for more information. 

Other Expenses

There are other expenses for each student. These incidentals may include:
excursions, IGSSA sport participation, books, stationery, school planner, locker security, library printing, Tara private buses etc.

2017 Boarding Fees (in addition to tuition fees)

Years 5-12 Full Time  $24,300 annually 
Years 5-12 Casual - Night Rate  $162 per night 
Years 5-12 Casual - Weekly Rate
(5 nights Sunday-Thursday)
$520 per week 
Years 5-12 Casual - Weekly Rate (7 nights) $752 per week  

Please note casual rates are applicable for up to one Term.
Plus the Government required GST on food (approximately $450 per year).

Discount on fees for sisters

When a family has two daughters concurrently attending the school, the most senior student is charged full fees, and a 10% discount for the second sister's tuition fees and a 20% discount for the third and subsequent sisters' fees.

Payment Schedule

Tuition and Boarding statements for Years ELC-11 are sent four times a year, except Year 12 where statements are sent three times per year. Payment is in advance and is by direct debit from your bank account, monthly, 10 times a year from February to November. Other incidental expenses are charged each term with a final invoice in December each year. Please contact us for more information. 


A select number of scholarships are available each year and they are awarded on the basis of the academic scholarship testing plus a submitted portfolio, some scholarships also require additional requirements and submissions. For more details visit the scholarships page.
